Hope for the Humble

Luke 2:8-14 (NASB) 2020 edition

8 In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock at night.
9 And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood near them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened.
10 And so the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people;
11 for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
12 And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly army of angels praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among people with whom He is pleased.

REFLECTION

In this passage, we see that the first recipients of the good news were the shepherds. They lived on the outskirts of society, yet when they received the angel's message, they acted upon it immediately. They came to see Jesus and shared the news with others. This reminds us that, like the shepherds, it is our responsibility to seek Jesus and share His love and mercy with those around us. By doing so, we help others to know Him and receive the gift of eternal life.

The angel declared, “Good news for all.” In most situations, news can be good for some and bad for others, but this was a unique and universal moment. The birth of Jesus was truly good news for everyone—a message of hope and salvation for all people.

PRAYER

Thank you Lord for the goodness that I got and help me to share this goodnews to all those have not listen so far. That they will listen and be blessed. Amen.
